IP ratings of equipment cabinets |
IP ratings define
protection types according to the
standard EN 60 529/IEC529.
Protection type is stated like:
IP [First digit][Second digit]
For example:
[First digit] = 5
means that the cabinet is protected
against dust. Dust can penetrate into
the cabinet, but only in those
proportions which will not affect the
operation or safety of the cabinet.
[Second digit] = 5
means that the cabinet is protected
against water stream. If water is
directed from each direction at the
cabinet as a stream, it will not
cause harmful effects.
[Second digit] = 6
means that the cabinet is protected
against strong water stream. If water
is directed from each direction at
the cabinet as a strong stream, it
will not cause harmful effects.
If you want some additional
