You have three options:

1. Your cabling system complies to Category 5 *AND* proposed TSB-95 ”Additional Transmission Performance Guidelines for 100 ohm 4-pair Category 5 Cabling“ requirements

2. Your cabling system complies to proposed Category 5E (ANSI/TIA/EIA-568-A-5) requirements

3. Your cabling system complies to proposed Category 6 requirements

If your cabling system complies to *ANY* of three conditions mentioned above, it will support 1000Base-T. Of course, the cabling system must be designed and installed correctly.

Before buying a cabling solution, check that your cabling vendor guarantees 1000Base-T Gigabit Ethernet support in written form.
