 cat 5 4 pair colors
what does each color represent?
Answer by Dmitri Abaimov posted 09 Dec 2007

It simply represents the sequence of pairs in a connector, pretty much an arbitrary choice where blue stands for #1, orange - #2, green -#3 and brown - #4 in a four-pair cable.
