 outdoor vs. plenum
I have a customer who is using a 25pr. plenum run thru a soffet of his building down to SBC interface. The cable is exposed for aprox. 6 ft. Is there going to be a problem with the plenum cable or is it ok

Dear gary,

While this practice of using indoor cable (PVC or plenum) is common the cable will deteriorate over time as it is not manufactured for dealing with the elements. One thing I would make sure of is that the end of the cable (at the point of jacket removal) is not turned up so it would collect water and funnel it into the jacket. Anything that can be done to protect the cable where it is exposed to the elements would help lengthen it's useful life.

Sincerely,
