How will Electrical cable affect UTP cat 5 cable if they are placed in the same conduit
Answer by Dmitri Abaimov posted 24 Jul 2002
Dear Olu,

It will either do nothing or increase bit error rate, depending on the current in the power cable and the type of the load. However, you are not allowed to put low-voltage cable in the same conduit with power because of the fire safety considerations that have nothing to do with signals but with people safety.
