 fiber optic cables
was just enquiry as to where fibre optic cables are actually used? and what are they used for ?
any information on this would of great help

Dear cait,
With today applications and demand they can be found almost anywhere. To the desktop, backbone and to the home (within the home it is very rare).
Their original usage was due to the higher bandwidth and longer distance features.
They are used for all types of signals: voice, data, video, security and broadband.
