 Metal conduit
I have no choice but to run CAT6 for a new server in a shallow raceway above several fluorescent light fixtures. The run will be 45 feet. Can I use metal conduit? Will the conduit induce its own EMI? Should the conduit be grounded? Thanks!

Dear Chip,

Any conduit should be grounded which in turn will help reduce the EMI from the lights, it is like adding a shield to the cable.

Sincerely,
Joseph Golan, RCDD
