 CAT3 v CAT5e
I'm thinking about using VoiP. I would like to run wire from the fone device jack to a terminal strip, than to all fones. Should I use CAT5e or CAT3 wire? This wire will only be used for fones. Is there a better way? I don't want to go out and buy all new cordless fones. Thanks for your help.

Dear Rich,

Since you are talking VoIP, this is essentially an Ethernet connection, not a regular phone line anymore. Therefore you definitely want to go with the higher grade cabling - CAT5E.

Sincerely,
Dmitri Abaimov, RCDD
