IPO2vCard Installation Manual: STEP 1

Installation Steps

What does this tool do?

It works with Avaya IP Office phone system and its companion software - Phone Manager Pro to create a standard VCard file for the caller using CallerID and other tags passed by the phone system.

The VCard file can then be easily saved into Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Contacts, Mac OS X Address Book and many more standard compliant contact managers. You can also email the VCard file to share the contact information.

The VCard file can then be easily saved into Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Contacts, Mac OS X Address Book and many more standard compliant contact managers. You can also email the VCard file to share the contact information.

This utility requires very little setup and no installation due to the fact that it uses this site's facilities to create VCard files.

You will need just a couple of things to make it work: an Avaya IP Office phone system, Phone Manager software installed on your PC and a license that enables Pro features of Phone Manager - Avaya SAP code 177468 (1 user), 177469 (5 users) etc., please contact your Avaya Business Partner for pricing and ordering codes for other user quantities. Unlimited users license is also available - SAP code 177474

We would like to refer you to Avaya's Phone Manager installation manual if you need help installing this software on your PC. The following installation procedures are for the Phone Manager-to-VCard utility and we assume that you already have Phone Manager installed on your PC.

Phone Manager is installed, what to do next?

This is the first step in the installation. Go ahead and download the .bat file

vcard.zip

The MS Windows batch file is ZIP-ed to make sure it does not get deleted by your antivirus software. Please un-zip the file and place it anywhere on your hard drive. We would suggest putting it right into the root directory C:\ - it will be easier to type the location of the file later. This file does not require any further editing or adjusting to your system's settings. For that please advance to the next step.
