 | Question by steve shockey posted 10 Apr 2004 | cat 5e / cat 6 | What is the main difference in cat5e/cat6 Is it the twist per inch, copper quality or what | | Answer by Dmitri Abaimov posted 10 Apr 2004 | Dear Steve,
These cables are different in pair twist lengths, copper diameter (same quality copper, but CAT6 is thicker) , insulation diameter (CAT6's thicker) and material, outer jacket thickness and material as well as pair dividers that are used in CAT6 cables and not used in CAT5E cables.
Sincerely,
Dmitri Abaimov, RCDD
