 Wiring
I need to know the most common wiring color schemes used today. My office seems to be using no sort of standardizaton on the wiring. We have both 10baseT and 100baseT. What is your recommendation for the order of the colors of the wires. I know there is a standard out there.

Hi, Ron!

You are absolutely right. There is a cabling standard titled ANSI/EIA/TIA-568-A, which governs the telecom wiring in commercial buildings.

This standard also contains wire colors and pinouts.

This information is available at Cabling-Design.com in References section.

If it doesn't answer all your questions, please ask more specifically.

Best regards,
Roman Kitaev, RCDD
