Cat 5 to cat 3

 Cat 5 to cat 3
Hi :
Can I use Cat 5 to cable a conection into cat 3. I mean , I need to connect a switch and a router and both detect is a 100 mbps conection , how can I do to connect them at 10 mbps changing my cabling...

Dear javier,

Won't work. The devices themselves define the speed, not cabling. Try to program the port if it's a good switch.
