Are there any resources to design a home structured wiring system and distribution center for the end components that I wish to install in my house for a do-it-yourselver? Of course for a fee.

Dear Ted, I can't help saying that we do have such resource for you! Check Cabling-Design.com's Residential Cabling Guide, 3rd Edition 142-page e-book.
