Is CAT 5 Cabling water proof?

Dear Sean, No, 99% of cables are not. There are special versions of Cat5 outside plant cables that have water penetration protection. Expect to much more for them compared to 'normal' ones. Sincerely, Roman Kitaev, RCDD
