 Cable problems
I have recently been making cables for a LAN using c5 cables and rj45 connectors, i have tested these on a connection tester and they have all said connected but when i put them into the computer it doesnt work can you help

Dear Keith,

Some continuity testers (especially those manual ones) wouldn't tell the problem if , say, pair #2 is connected to a pair #3 and vise versa. They would only tell if a pair is opened or polarity reversed. Make sure you didn't get one of those testers. Other than that there are tons of software-related problems. I obviously cannot tell exactly what's wrong since I don't know what exactly does not work.
