MT RJ FREE cabling and networking Helpdesk
Question by peter oyen posted 28 Sep 2001
is it true that AMP stopped selling MT-RJ connectors in the USA and that they don`t have a fiber to the desk sollution any more
Answer by Dmitri Abaimov posted 29 Sep 2001
Dear Peter,

They don't sell singlemode MT-RJ because the connector design did not allow accurate positioning for both fibers. I've never heard of them to stop selling multimode though. However, even if they did decide that, they weren't the
only people in MT-RJ alliance. MT-RJ was licensed to number of FO manufacturers, so even if AMP will decide to withdraw, others will still make it.
