 innerduct fill
How many CAT5e cables are permitted to be installed 1-1/4 1-1/2 & 2 inch innerduct?
 Answer by Roman Kitaev posted 11 Sep 2001
Hi, Paul!

The calculation is very simple:

(1) calculate the internal cross-sectional area of the duct
(2) calculate the area of one cable
(3) the maximum duct fill should be about 40%

so, the number of cables is:

N = (0.4 * duct area)/(area of one cable)
