hi, i just want to ask, is there any difference between cat5e & cat6 in regards to pin assignments? i mean in creating / terminating the cable by rj45 (i am doing it customly w/o buying patch cords) is there any difference? thanks!

Dear Michael,

No, there is no difference in pin assignments or color code. Just different electrical characteristics. Also somewhat larger diameter for the CAT6 cable which may affect some of the installation procedure.
