Maximum distance of CAT5e and CAT6 for IP Cameras
I have an IP camera which is 250 meter away from my switch. Is Cat5e good enough to make this connected or do I need Cat6? or is it not possible? Thank you.

Dear FYH,

The limitation of either category 5e or 6 (regardless of the type of device is 90 meters as a link or 100 meters as a channel. For 250 meters, I would check with the manufacturer of the camera for their recommendations.
Sincerely,
Joseph Golan, RCDD
