 cat3 to cat5
my question deals with going from an analog connection to a digital connection and then back to analog. meaning starting with a regular cat3 connector and cable, connected into an analog line, and replacing the other end with a cat5 connector and connecting it into the network switch. then from the wall port a cat5 connector, on a cat3 line, with a cat3 connector on the other end that connects into say a desk phone. is this possible? thanks for your answer in advance and have a blessed day.

Dear bo,
There should not be any problem as all newer components are back wards compatible to lower grades.

Sincerely,
