 Cat 5e Couplers
Hi,

Due to time constraints, we are thinking of using cat5e couplers (in a keystone format) in a patch panel vs. doing punch downs. We have some long (200+ ft) runs of cat 5e and we will be definitely doing GE to the desktop. There will be another patch panel in this configuration.

Basically - desktop - patch cord - wall jack - 200 ft cat5e - patch panel - 15ftp patch cable - cat5e coupler - patch cable to switch.

Thanks!

Dear Joe,

I didn't see a question here. It sounds like it should work but if you exceed a total of 10 meters of patch/equipment cords you will be beyond what the standards list.

Sincerely,
Joseph Golan, RCDD
