 RJ45 for RJ11 phone
I want to use an RJ45 wall point for my telephone which will accept an rj11 connection. I have a 4 wire telephone cable that I need to connect to the RJ45 plug on the wall so that I can just plugthe RJ11 phone connection in the RJ45 wall point. Do you have the pin outs for connecting the 4 wire telephone cable to the RJ45 connector please.

Dear Bharat,

You should have no problem using the 8 pin modular wall jack with your RJ-11 cord. Pair 1 (Telephone line) of the RJ-11 will mate up perfectly with pair 1 (Blue/White) of the 8 pin modular jack.

If this is a two line telephone, pair 2 of the RJ-11 (would really be then an RJ-14) will line up perfectly with pair 2 (White/Orange) of an 8 pin modular jack if it is wired to the T568A standards. If the 8 pin modular jack was wired to the T568B standards then the 2nd line will line up with the third pair (White/Green).

Sincerely,
Joseph Golan, RCDD
