 tv won't pick up new dvd signal
The dvd was a gift for my dad, he has a sony wega, but the dvd is toshiba, he hooked up the s video connects, but tv shows no signal received.
my tv as different inputs which you choose, does his?
is there someting else i should look at?

Dear Steve,

The difference of manufacturers shouldn't be the cause of your problem. The signal is not "auto-sensed" you must choose the input from the TV remote.

I suspect that your Dad may be using a universal remote (maybe is came with his cable or other piece of gear. These remotes don't typically bring up the function you are looking for, you will need the original remote for the TV, you are on the right track.
