 RJ11 to RJ45
1)I have a VoIP adapter connected to my Router in the wiring closet. VoIP adapter has a RJ11 female. I have Cat5e running from my closet to wall faceplate with one end (near VoIP box) having RJ45 male and other end (wall faceplate) RJ45 female. I have connected my phone to wall faceplate RJ45 socket using standard RJ11 patach cable that came with phone. I need a patch cable that connects VoIP RJ11 to my CATe RJ45 at the wiring closet. What are the pin connections? Does any standard Rj11 to Rj45 patch cables/connector adaptors available?
2) When you plug a RJ11 male into a RJ45 female socket which 4 of the 8 RJ45 pins are connected?

Dear D,

It sounds like you have a DSL unit and you are trying to conect it to an ethernet system. These are two different types of signals and cannot be directly connected to each other.

Sincerely,
Joseph Golan, RCDD
