 HOOK UP MY LINE 2!
HI. RECENTLY, I HAD A SECOND LINE INSTALLED BUT, UNFORTUNATELY THE CABLE COMPANY FAILED TO SWITCH THE ORANGE AND WHITE WIRES SO THAT I HAVE A DIAL TONE IN MY HOUSE. SO, THE LINE IS THERE, THE WIRES JUST NEED TO BE PROPERLY HOOKED UP TO HAVE A DIAL TONE. WHAT DO I DO TO ACHEIVE THIS? THE SECOND MODULE HAS THE ORANGE AND WHITE WIRES SCREWED IN, AND IS CONNECTED TO ANOTHER MAIN MODULE. THERE ARE ALL SORTS OF LEFT OVER WIRES SUCH AS BROWN AND WHITE, GREEN AND OTHERS. THERE ARE NO EXTRA AREAS IN THIS LINE 2 FOR ME TO PUT ANY MORE WIRES. HOWEVER IN THE LINE 1 MODULE THERE ARE LITTLE T/R HOLES WHICH ARE NOT BEING USED. CAN YOU PLEASE DESCRIBE TO ME WHAT TO DO NEXT SO I CAN HAVE MY LINE 2?

Dear ADRIA,

I assume that the 2nd module you are referring to is in the NID outside or in your service area.

The original installer may not have hooked up the orange pair at your jacks. If you want the 2nd line to appear as line 2 and you have either T568A wiring or USOC wiring then hook-up the White/orange pair to the White/orange point on the jacks. If you have T568B wiring hookup the white orane pair to the White/green pair on the jacks.

Sincerely,
Joseph Golan, RCDD
