 HOOK UP MY LINE 2!
HI THERE. RECENTLY WE HAD A 2ND PHONE LINE INSTALLED. HOWEVER, WE DID NOT REALIZE THAT IT WAS NOT HOOKED UP IN THE OUTSIDE BOX. WHAT I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO DO IS- WHICH WIRES DO I PUT IN THE T/R HOLES IN ORDER TO MAKE MY LINE 2 WORK? THERE ARE LOTS OF DIFFERENT COLORED WIRES AVAILABLE. MY TELEPHONE COMPANY SAID I AM CAPABLE OF DOING IT MYSELF, I JUST DON'T KNOW WHICH WIRES TO CONNECT, AND WHICH ONES TO LEAVE ALONE. PLEASE HELP ME! I DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO PAY FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO COME OUT TO MY HOUSE!

Dear ADRIA,

Well you didn't give a hint on what colors of wires you are seeing in your NID. The most common are the white/orange/orange white pair for line two. At your jacks (assuming they are wired to the USOC or T568A standards) the whiote/orange pair will be line 2.
