 network & phone over cat5
I'm trying to get a definitive answer on the use of one cat5 cable for both phone and natwork. I've seen both yes and no. Can you explain what the real answer is? Is there really going to be interferance or is it just a matter of not meeting the standard? I realize gigabite networking would then not be possible.
Thanks

Dear jeremy,

If you do not follow the standards then nothing is guarrenteed.
Yes there can be interference and/or crosstalk issues which can lead to poor performance of the data side.
Sorry to say there is no "real" answer, just theory.

Sincerely,
Joseph Golan, RCDD
