 Home Network Cat5 Cable
I am moving into a house that is prewired with cat5 cable to each room. The cat5 cable seems to end in the "phone network" box which is outside. I would like to be able to use these cables for my home network, but obviously, I cannot put a router out in the elements. Is there a way to use this hub and spoke cabling for my network?

Dear Jeff,

If there is a way for you to pull back the cat5 cable into the house, even to the garage then you should do that and then run a single cable from this new location to the NID box outside to connect back your telephone service.

Sincerely,
Joseph Golan, RCDD
