 Cable Length (STP)
Hello Sir/Madam,
This is my first question on ur site.
We are using Lantronix made Xport module which provide Serial to ETHERNET interface.
Two Such modules are connected through Switch.
When we use cable(STP cat5e) of length less than 10 mts (between module and switch ) there is no packet loss between the two. When we use cable of length 10 or more there is a packet loss. can U tell me where i am going wrong. as per stds STP should support length upto 100mts. But in my case it is not. Can you help in this regard.
Reply soon i will be waiting for ur reply.
Thanks and Regards..

Dear Rajshaker ,

This problem is typical of the cable pairs being split. Receck the cutdown of the cable. If you are using male 8 pin modular jacks, make sure you follow the color coding published at this url:
