 lan drops
I'm tyring to install some lan drops at my work, the only problem is i don't know the proper way to wire the cat cable into the drop itself. so if you could help me find a diagram for wiring a drop box that would be great

Dear nathan,

If you are not experienced in doing this, I would recommend hiring a structured cabling contractor as specialized tools and test equipment is needed for a proper installation.

Most of the jacks today are color coded at the jack to assist with the actual pinning of the cable. You can also find additional help at most of the manufacturer websites. There are two different wiring schemes commonly used T568A & T568B. Electrically they are both the same with T568B being the most chosen. It does matter which one you use as long as you use the same at both ends.
