 RJ 45 terminator
Rj 45 terminator has 8 pins and only 4 are useful,why having 8 pins while 4 areactually useful?

Dear frank,

What you have there is structured cabling which will serve various applications. While 10BaseT and 100BaseT both only use four conductors (Pin s 1, 2, 3 & 6, 1000BaseT will use all 8. Also telephone service is normally delivered on pins 4 & 5. The whole idea is that the cable can be used for any service up to it's electrical category.
