What is the difference between cat5e and cat6 cable?

Dear Ralph,
Category 5e cable is designed to handle 100Mhz and the highest ethernt currently is 1000BaseT.

Cat 6 was designed for a higher frequency nbut currently there are not any applications that utilize these higher frequencies
